During our recent trip to Florida we stayed at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort in Marathon, Florida. It is a resort mainly consisting of two bedroom houses which almost all have a wonderful view of the Gulf of Mexico.
Just take a look at the view from our master bedroom on the second floor:
During our trip we also visited Key West, Miami and Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as New York City. I will write a few more trip reports and reviews over the coming weeks about the hotels we stayed in (Tranquility Bay, Hyatt Miami at the Blue, Bonito Boutique Hotel Buenos Aires and Andaz 5th Ave New York).
As I was currently looking to book a one-way flight from New York to Germany for my sister I stumbled upon the opportunity to use a BA Avios + Cash redemption on Air Berlin. For the Air Berlin nonstop flight from JFK to Berlin Tegel in Economy BA is charging 20.000 Avios plus 1,90EUR in taxes. However, you can also just redeem 6.000 Avios and pay an additional 116,90EUR. Even if you have no Avios points, you could buy the needed 6.000 BA Avios points for 128,00EUR. Thus, you would only pay 244,90 EUR for a one-way flight in Economy from New York to Berlin Germany. Not bad. Compare this to 510 EUR when booking this flight directly with Air Berlin (on the date I was looking for).
I signed up for the TravelMagic 2013 seminar in Brussels a few weeks ago and finally managed to finalize my travel plans today. I will be flying into Brussels on Friday evening (TravelMagic is on Saturday) and leave Sunday morning. Together with a good friend I will be flying with Swiss through Zurich in order to get some more miles (and segments for him) into our mileage accounts. As I have been collecting more OneWorld miles more recently (I switched from United MileagePlus where I currently only have Silver status) I am still debating where to credit these Star Alliance miles (choice of Lufthansa Miles&More [only 125 miles per segment], Turkish Miles&Smiles,
United MileagePlus [no miles for K booking class] or Aegan Miles&Bonus).
I am excited to attend this seminar as I will also have a chance to meet Lucky from One Mile at a Time in person.
I am currently sitting in the American Airlines Admirals Club at Dallas Fort Worth Airport (Terminal A). I have been to a few other U.S. domestic lounges (United/Continental mainly) and must say, this is the best domestic lounge I have been to.
A very spacious layout with different areas, good restrooms, very nice personnel, etc. They also have very good showers (haven’t tried it though) as well as a Childrens lounge and smoking lounge.
